As our Journey to Elsewhere continues, we’re only feeling more hopeful and optimistic. The February collection is brighter and bolder – bringing a new energy to your wardrobe.
New designs and updated Radley London favourites take us through spring 2021 and beyond, with new leathers and handmade details. From backpacks to shoulder bags – every piece is thoughtfully designed and expertly crafted to be by your side every day.
What was your design inspiration?
“Our design inspiration came from the prospect of travelling again; from how we’d be feeling to where we’d want to go. A nautical journey out to local seas and shores seemed the perfect escape – the chance to get away from our homes without going too far.”
Did you focus on anything in particular?
“Our focus is always to produce beautiful, quality designs that have purpose. But, for this season especially, we looked further into our hardware and how we could elevate the different finishes.
“We’ve introduced new gold colour plating, which is luxurious and shiny without looking too bright. We also felt some of our collections should have a more premium fashion feel, so we enhanced those styles; finessing their hardware and considering every aspect of their design.”
For you, what’s the key trend for SS21?
“Personalisation is also a key trend – I’ve loved seeing women making our designs their own with some of our beautiful charms and small leather accessories. It’s exciting to know that personalisation is a world we can develop further.”
There’s lots blue in this collection – what inspired this?
“Blue is a very easy colour to coordinate. It’s fresh, exciting and pushes ahead from the forest tones of winter, offering a clear step-change and palette cleanse for 2021.
“Taking inspiration from British coasts and the sea worn treasures of glass, shells and pottery pieces that wash up on the shore, we added our own twist on the nautical trends that are popular at this time of year.
“Our blues are on trend and offer clean optimism for 2021. Blue Heather is a soft, powder blue that conjures up thoughts of the sea and the sky and Yale is our bright, positive pop of colour.”
More Radley Remastered styles are launching this month – what are you most excited about?
“I’m really excited about Austin Remastered – I’m really proud of how we’ve upgraded and modernised the original design.
“We’ve added more structure, so it’ll hold its shape for years to come, and made the design adaptable. I love how the adjustable straps allow me to wear it as both a backpack and a shoulder bag.”
The collection comes with fresh hope and optimism – what are you optimistic about for the year ahead?
“I’m optimistic we’ll return to travelling for holidays and inspiration. I’m really excited at the thought of being back with friends and family, strolling around London and visiting shops and exhibitions.”
