Read on to hear from Zizi, our Head of Design, about what sets this collection apart.

What’s the inspiration behind this new collection?

This year more than ever, we’re appreciating the simpler things. This collection takes inspiration from nature and how important it’s become to city dwellers. Gardens fuel our creativity; we’re bringing the outside in – through greenhouses, terrariums and foraging – and connecting with wilderness in new ways. It’s the tranquillity of the outside that we all crave.

For you, what’s the season’s key trend?

Functionality, minimal detailing and heritage styling. Functionality is a feature that Radley London has always considered important, so we’ve focused on creating multipurpose styles that can take you from morning to evening. It’s been fun looking back at Radley London’s huge archive of styles to gain influences for the future. The beauty of the leathers and designs speak for themselves.

You’ve introduced lots of new textures – which one’s your favourite?

To enhance the luxuriousness and variety of our collections, we always include new textures. Faux croc is something that has been very successful for Radley London, but I personally love the faux snake textures. For me, they add great tonal interest to the strong colour palette.

We’re excited to see Liverpool Street 2.0 in Ink Blue – how will you be styling yours?

We were so excited to launch Liverpool Street 2.0 back in September, but one thing we felt was missing was our classic Ink Blue. I’ll be wearing mine with long skirts, oversized knits, chunky boots and of course, a cosy longline coat.

Kale is a notable colour in the collection – why did you choose this?

Green is set to be a very important trend colour in the coming seasons due to its uplifting tones and its association with nature and wellness. It revives, restores and renews and has already been called out as the colour of the year. Green marks a new dawn and a fresh start to the new decade; its richness translates perfectly into our wonderful leather.

What inspired the Whimsical Floral print?

Our Whimsical Floral print is centred around the idea of foraging and gathering. One of our very talented designers, Alice, drew all of the elements by hand. Acorns and rosehip berries adorn the print in a signature Radley London style with green leaves and a deep ink background.

In recent months foraging has become ever more popular, with people taking the time to explore nature and enjoy the harvest it has to offer. Alice’s style lends itself perfectly to Radley London prints and this one is no exception – it sums up the mood of the collection perfectly.

What’s special about the collection’s hardware?

We’ve paid a lot of attention to the elevation of our hardware. We still use hardware in a very understated way, but we’ve expanded our choice of finish colours for this season. We now offer a polished 18k gold effect finish alongside shiny silver, brushed gold and gunmetal.

If you had to pick, what’s your favourite piece?

I have too many favourites to choose! But one of the stand-out pieces I will be buying is the Porter Street – it has a rich, faux croc finish and beautiful vintage styling. I love the hardware – we used especially-developed fittings for this style – and the adjustability of the strap. I also really love the versatile Manor Grove cross body. It’s a key style that can be dressed up or down – the only difficult choice here is which colour to pick.

What are you looking forward to most this festive season?

I’m looking forward to having more focused time with my family and all the excitement that comes in the lead up to Christmas. The festivities are extra special at our house as it’s my daughter Lola’s birthday on Christmas Day. I love the joy that it all brings – we have double celebrations so there’s a lot to cram in into one day for us!

And finally, which Wrapped Up Radley design will you be gifting and to who?

I’ll be gifting my sisters the Manor Grove style as they’ll love the functionality and modern styling. I’ll also be gifting some of our new phone tech pieces to family members. The neat, slimline pouches are becoming increasingly popular and are very much on trend for carrying your phone and small essentials.
