Where We Wander: Discover our New Campaign

08 August 2022

We’re inviting you to get lost with us in our London home. To wander these well-trodden streets and explore the familiar surroundings that change with each new season. We’re making our way by instinct and embracing the unexpected, because sometimes the best plan is no plan at all. And of course, we’ll have everything we need in a bag from our new collection.

As we journey through the capital, you’ll also meet some of the creatives working behind the scenes on our latest shoot.

“Our city home is sewn into the seams of every Radley London design. And this collection celebrates the history and heritage, with new season shades and handcrafted finishes inspired by hidden spaces and architectural details.” - Zizi, Director of Design

Join us as we wander, spotting the landmarks and locations that have inspired this season’s first drop. And where better to start our journey than near the Radley London HQ?

We begin in the heart of Mayfair, where historic, iconic buildings reflect the neutrals in our latest colour palette. See these shades across our new Hillgate Place collection (which is destined to become your new workday hero style). Designed with Chalk and Black grained leathers, plus a red-brick-inspired Ginger Biscuit option with contrast handles.

It doesn’t take long before we find a park. An escape from the busy city road where we can explore nature, spot the wildlife and sit down to enjoy a good book. The new colour-block edition of our Hay’s Mews bag is perfect for this. Set to be one of this season’s biggest trends with its spacious, slouchy shape, now crafted in soft grained leather.

Meet our shoot stylist, Gemma Hayward

Tell us about your favourite new bag and how you styled it.

“I love the slouchy structure of Hay’s Mews (above) and the creamy colour-blocking.  I tried to mirror its fluid form with a full maxi dress with billowy sleeves. It has a slight nod to the seventies too, so it was perfectly paired with the Radley London suede stack-heeled boots.”

Where’s your favourite place in London and why?

“I adore the Tower of London. My commute takes me past it, so it feels so familiar but it’s quite breath-taking to look at. I’m fascinated by its colourful history."

Describe your perfect outfit and handbag for a day exploring the city.

“A busy day calls for a hands-free, cross body bag, so the Pockets 2.0 (below) is ideal. Comfort is also key so I would team trainers with a pair of nineties straight-leg jeans and a crisp cotton t-shirt, and then smarten things up with an oversized blazer to finish off the look.”

In a city that’s full of culture and art, you can be sure you’ll always find new galleries to explore. We step inside one of these, with Pockets 2.0 Faux Croc by our side. It’s already a familiar, bestselling shape, so we know how easily it holds our purse and phone while we snap a picture or two.

Back outside and into the low, late afternoon sun, before it disappears behind the next building. Shining on our new Liverpool Street 2.0 styles, it highlights the curved shapes and signature features. The glossy mock croc and smooth leather options, the shiny hardware, and the different silhouettes in this hero family.

Painted archways, engraved plaques and impressive statues are just a few of the sights we see on our route. We stop to look, Liverpool Street 2.0 Patchwork in hand. Expertly crafted by our Radley London artisans with a beautiful combination of inlaid leather and zig-zag top stitching.

Meet our photographer, Stephanie Sian Smith

Which of our handbags would you pick for your next London adventure and why?

Liverpool Street 2.0 Faux Croc. It looks like a bag I can fit my camera and my notebook/sketch pad in, plus a swimming cosy and dry towel.”

What area of London do you love exploring or getting lost in and why?

“Hampstead is my new favourite, it’s absolutely brilliant. There are so many walks and wild swims, amazing places to eat, book shops and art. Every day I find something new… and running or walking through the Heath is like being in the countryside.”

We never forget accessories. Especially when it’s purses that match our handbags, like the Liverpool Street 2.0 matinee. We’ll have ours at the ready for hopping on the tube or popping into a new coffee shop.
