New Handbags That Will Have You Saying ‘Thanks, It’s Radley’

24 November 2023

Made to be complimented since 1998. And our new winter handbag collection is no exception. Discover a new season of designs that will have you saying 'thanks, it's Radley' wherever you go. Get ready for sumptuous leathers, refined detailing and silhouettes that will take you from work to weekend. There’s a lot to tell you about these designs, take it from the experts. Our London Design Studio.

Sally (Senior Designer) is excited for you to discover Park Place Shearling.

“Shearling is often reserved for soft accessories like slippers, but we wanted to take loungewear outdoors and give you this really cosy handbag that’s perfect for the winter months. It’s the ultimate soft, luxurious style. It looks fantastic with winter coats.”

And Alice (Designer) is in love with the rich colours on Sloane Street Gingham, a lesson in premium leathercraft.

“This colour combination is so festive. We wanted to give the look of a weave with a softer finish on this smooth leather, so the gingham print works perfectly.”

It’s not winter without a little bit of shine. The chain on the strap on Warnham Court is a lesson in elevated simplicity according to Sophie, Designer.

“This style is waiting for party season. We trimmed the cross body strap with our classic oversized chain and the effect is very ‘dancefloor-ready’. You can also detach that longer strap and just pop it in the bag to carry on the shoulder instead.”

Pockets got a new look, and Alice knows you’re going to love it.

“Our new mini Pockets Icon has some great features. We’ve shortened the strap so it sits a little higher on the body, in that sling style that’s going to be very popular for many seasons to come. We also added a little zip front pocket for easy access to important things like your keys. And a metal clip at the base of the strap so you can customise it by attaching a little charm or pouch.”

Meet Milligan Street, based on a favourite design from our archives. Lucy (Designer Manager) introduces this new family, featuring a cross body and backpack silhouette, as a meeting of style and functionality.

“The curved zip looks beautiful but it also serves a purpose, it makes it even easier to open the bag and see everything inside. The interior features compartments to keep everything organised. That combined with this tactile grained leather makes these ideal for workwear.”

And it’s not the only new family featuring a backpack silhouette. Alice tells us about how they updated a classic shape to create Grove Lane.

“It’s a satchel shape you'll want to carry every day. It fits a laptop, we’ve made sure to use padded straps so it’s nice and comfy, and there’s a push lock under the flap as well as the drawstring closure, so it’s secure too. We liked it so much we also made it in a shoulder bag with that same flapover detail.”

Our bestsellers aren’t going anywhere. Like Sloane Street and Dukes Place. Sally tells us why they chose these colours for the season ahead.

“We see these as alternatives to a black bag. We love a classic black bag but it’s nice to have options that are really rich, like Alpine (green) and Thunder (a deep grey).”

Thank you, Designers. We’re ready for the season ahead, and all the compliments we’ll receive on these new handbags. Make sure you check Radley Stories for the latest news and the newest styles. All of these designs and much more are now available in New In.
