Spring ‘24 is Brightening Up

26 April 2024

Our luxe leather designs are getting lighter and brighter, and we hope your spring days are too. One of the best things about handbags is you don’t need to wait for better weather before you break out your favourite new season designs.

Take Hanley Close Weave in Chalk. Looks great with layers now, and will be your plus one for events this summer. Keep reading for more info on that weave detail and much more from our Design team.

Chilling at the beach or zoning out on the commute? Sunbeam Road is made for both, as the name suggests. Sophie, Designer, tells us how they achieved this mix. “It’s all in the combination of materials. Here we used faux raffia and grained leather, with a canvas drawstring pouch inside. We love creating handbags that are so versatile you can carry them anywhere.”

We promised you more detail about Hanley Close Weave and Sally, Senior Designer, is here to deliver. “We love that both our Hanley Close cross body and shoulder styles are minimal in size, so we decided to go maximalist on detailing this season. We’re talking intricately woven trims and padded details. Our bright Apricot shade is the icing on the cake.”

Exciting news, you’ll find the same detailing on another of our most popular styles – Liverpool Street 2.0. And another fruity shade, a hot pink we’ve called Coulis. We’re ready for an ice cream now.

Back when we started out in 1998, we would have called this style a bum bag. But we’ve all come a long way since then, and in 2024 this is the Derwent Drive sling. A twist on a cross body style, and a favourite of many in Radley HQ. Like Design Manager, Lucy: “I love how the curved shape just hugs to your body, and the grained leather we chose is perfect to enhance this shape. Now that I won’t need to carry bigger bags to fit all my winter essentials, Derwent Drive will be my go-to.”

If you, like us, you haven’t decided what your go-to style will be yet, make sure you take a look at New Arrivals.  And keep an eye on Radley Stories for all the latest news.
