A warm welcome to Hotel Radley, where you’ll discover a capsule collection of new season bags – inspired by an unforgettable 5-star stay in the heart of London. Now you’ve checked in, let us help you with your bags. Each one expertly made from some of the finest leathers to bring a little extra luxury.
Okay, so it’s not a real hotel, but we can dream. We asked our London Design Studio what inspired them to create this boutique hotel experience. Over to Sally, our Senior Designer.
“We were imagining a retreat, a place for everyone to recharge as a busy summer comes to an end. Hotel Radley is like a home away from home. But one where we’re all living our best lives.”
You don’t have to just imagine how it would look either. Our designs bring it to life.
Starting with the picture bag, introducing Radley dog as the cutest bellboy. This collector’s item features 18 pieces of appliqué and 25 screen prints, so you can understand why it takes our artisan craftspeople up to five hours to create just one front panel. Truly a wearable work of art.
What about the bags our Scottie bellboy will be helping you with? Our Designers reimagined a vintage trunk, meet our Trompe-l’œil handbag. Named for the optical illusion effect used to create the embossed metallic buckles and printed strap details. The branded push-lock is very real though, to keep everything safely stored.
We had to ask our Designers, if Hotel Radley was a real hotel – what would it be like?
“Our home city of London is famous for its 5-star hotels. We imagined it as a vintage-inspired retreat in the heart of the action. A place you can return to after a busy day to unwind. The kind of place we’d all like to visit, really.”
We wondered if some of that vintage inspiration might have been behind the colourful check print on Heirloom Street. Lucy, Designer Manager, filled us in.
“We did a lot of research into boutique hotel interiors when dreaming up Hotel Radley. We saw a real trend for beautiful check wallpaper, and this is what eventually became our Heirloom Street print. The combination of pink and green is very Art Deco-inspired, another interior design style we wanted to use in our designs.”
Once you’ve enjoyed your stay, of course there’s the matter of the bill. But this is one bill you’ll be happy to receive. Our Guest Check bag is crafted from soft leather with rolled top edges and our Scottie bellboy in appliqué.
