Why the Editor in Chief of Good Housekeeping Loves Radley

We were excited to sit down with Gaby Huddart, Editor in Chief of Good Housekeeping magazine, to chat about all things summer. It might seem a little early, but we love to get a head start. Plus Good Housekeeping’s May edition is for sale now with a very exciting Radley offer inside. More on that later. First, we wanted to get some tips from style insider Gaby.
What do you look for in a perfect wedding guest or occasion bag?
“One that’s big enough. Occasion bags can often be very pretty but they’re not good if I can’t fit in phone, keys, lipstick, hairbrush and glasses.”
What do you always have in your occasion bag?
“As well as the above, I always carry tissues – I’m a real crier when it comes to the speeches at special occasions.”
Have you got any holidays planned this year?
“I’m hoping we’ll be doing our usual active family getaway in the summer with my husband and two daughters to Greece, which involves sun, sea, sand and a lot of sport.”

What three handbags will you be packing?
“Always a nice roomy bag for carrying essentials on the flight – laptop, book, water bottle and passports. Sunbeam Road (below left) looks perfect."
“A pretty evening bag for dinners out to look a little bit glam. Hanley Close (above middle) is super cute. This splash of colour would look fab with both white or black summer dresses or jumpsuits. It’s like a ray of sunshine in handbag form.”
A cross body bag for when I’m out and about. I love the look of Derwent Drive (above right). It’ll look great with summer clothes."
What are you most looking forward to this summer?
“Sunshine, long days and evenings, and being outside as much as possible. I’m definitely a summer girl and my diary is already full of lovely outings with family and friends - Glyndebourne in June, Wimbledon in July and, hopefully, our holiday in August!”

“I love a Radley handbag for the understated, elegant designs, the top-quality leather, and the fact they are so well made. I have a Radley cross body bag that I use every day, I’ve had it for years and it looks almost new and just as beautiful as the day I bought it.”
