In the early 1970s our founder Lowell Harder, left her native Australia in search of adventure in Europe. She developed a natural affinity with the British culture, and made these beautiful isles her home.
In the midst of 1980s London, Lowell became part of a new wave of young entrepreneurs setting up businesses in Camden Market, here she not only learnt how to sell leather bags, but how to design and build a brand. Lowell's pioneering spirit and passion for all things British remain at the heart of Radley today.
Our Radley dog was born after a search was started for an icon to represent the playful personality of our brand. The very British looking Scottie, with his distinctive outline and bright red collar was a small idea sketched by our designers and proved to be a huge success - dog lovers all over the world fell for him just like we did!
